Pascal Piron

The artwork is not the image.
The artwork is the system that makes the image possible.

Pen plotters, algorithmic processes, environmental data. I define the conditions under which drawings may emerge, transform, erode, or fail to exist — then withdraw control. What remains is residue.

About

Pascal Piron (b. 1981, Luxembourg) is an artist working at the intersection of computational systems, material processes, and existential inquiry. His practice has evolved from image-centered work toward rigorously defined system-based artworks governed by the framework Conditions of Appearance — a charter of rules defining necessity, lineage, memory, lifespan, autonomy, opacity, and irreversibility.

Working primarily with pen plotters and algorithmic drawing, Piron constructs situations where human presence, attention, and environmental data produce irreversible consequences on physical surfaces. Images, drawings, and absences are understood as residues of systemic behavior, not aesthetic endpoints. The artist defines the conditions under which control is lost; once activated, the system operates autonomously until its finite end.
